Mr. Szwak graduated from Rutgers University in 1998. While there, he concurrently became involved in pre-hospital Emergency Medicine. During his time in EMS, Mr. Szwak attained the rank of Chief at Audubon Emergency Medical Services.
After graduating, Mr. Szwak started working in the pharmaceutical research industry. While working at Premier Research he soon became the Manager of the Clinical Data Management department in just over a year. During his tenure at Premier, he continued his education and attended Drexel University’s (formally MCP Hahnemann) Physician Assistant Program. After attaining his Masters Degree there, Mr. Szwak passed his Medical Boards and acquired his medical license in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
After graduating in 2004, Mr. Szwak began working for EmCare, Inc., now Envision Healthcare, working in Emergency Medicine at several area hospitals as well as working part time in Primary Care. Soon after he was given the appointment of EMS Director at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and Chief PA in the Emergency Department overseeing medical and PA students on their rotations. As of January 2018, Mr. Szwak has taken a position with Pulmonary and Sleep Associates of South Jersey and is currently working as a Critical Care & Pulmonary PA in the ICU at Our Lady Of Lourdes Medical Center.
Through his tenure in medicine Mr. Szwak has lectured at multiple area Physician Assistant programs, EMS programs and conferences as well as providing continuing education for medical interns and residents. He is also a published author of several peer reviewed journal articles.
